going by car from SLC Utah to Flagstaff Ariz then to Mesa Ariz which way is the best way to travel?

Answer 1 :
Sorry cannot find SLC. I know it is a common abreviation near there, but not near here.
Answer 2 :
Ignore DC Bob - apparently, he's unable to look at an atlas to figure out that "SLC" means "Salt Lake City." Elementary stuff sometimes throws lazy, smart-alecky people. Anyway, I hope you're taking a camera and tons of film or lots of batteries for your digital. You can get on I-15 south out of SLC, and take it to about exit 15(?), where you'll get off on Utah state route 9. (If you want to stick to interstates, you're going to have to go way out of the way and add a lot of time.) Take UT 9 over to Hurricane, UT [make sure you have gas, etc. here] and get on UT 59 for about 30 minutes to the UT/AZ state line. UT 59 becomes AZ 389 and gets you over to Fredonia, AZ and (Alternate) US 89. In a couple of hours, you'll get to Marble Canyon, AZ and cross the Colorado River. [Again, keep an eye on your gas gauge.] Soon after crossing the river, you'll have a junction with US 89 south, and you can take that to Flagstaff, AZ. From Flagstaff, choose one of the routes described in the link below:
Answer 3 :
Ditto to what wheezer said. You might also consider going through the Kaibab National Forest on 89A to Jacob Lake and the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, if you have some time, instead of going on from Kanab, UT to Page, AZ on 89.

About Question about remote places in la mesa california
Question about remote places in la mesa california?
Hi, over the next few days sometime I want to take my girlfriend to a really remote place, something romantic and private and special. I can't travel to far from La mesa, probably 20 miles tops, any good remote places? I already thought of Alpine, and the "five five" for those of you who know what that is. Also, Ocean beach but I am guessing that would be crowded. Anyways, any help is great! Thanks

Answer 1 :
How about Palm Springs, or Ramona? I know of this great place in Anza Borrego (near Palm Springs), Palm Canyon trail, where you hike up to this oasis. There are palm trees, and waterfalls, and little streams and shade. It's really fun. You should pick a sunny, warm day to go, if you decide to. Palm Springs has great little restraunts and shopping areas. Since you live in La Mesa (I'm guessing), you could just go to downtown La Mesa and go get lunch and maybe do some shopping. Gio's is a great place for breakfast (great food) and dinner because there is a wine bar and live music. And then for desert you could go get some fudge/gelato across the street at an Italian place.
Answer 2 :
Well the top of mount Helix is nice. You have to be a bit sneaky if you go in the middle of the night as there is sometimes a security guard (but a hint of danger adds excitement and can sometimes be a turn-on for most women). Santee drive-in; the industrial complex in the middle of the night between Grossmont Center and the A-1 Storage on Spring St.; ... these are options if you're just looking for a private location for about 30 minutes of hanky-panky; however, if you wanna go a classy level up from that, here's what you do: There's a hotel across the 5 fwy from the airport called "Quality Suites." It doesn't sound like much at first, but trust me, this is THE place. Ask for a corner suite. They are surprisingly nice AND each suite has a full-sized hot-tub AND a giant shower that looks like it was designed for adult movies. That place will quickly become the private escape for you and your girlfriend and you'll find yourself going back more than once. If I remember correctly, it's up the street from The Shakespeare Pub, and that coffee house Gellato Vera. Thank me with a best answer, and have fun! ;)

How's the air quality in Costa Mesa, CA from the wild fires in So Cal?
I'm traveling to Costa Mesa, CA next week for business and I'm concerned about air quality. I'll be mostly indoors, but I know that we are re-locating some people from our Irvine office due to bad air quality from the So Cal fires.

Answer 1 :
we will let you know next week, as the situation/air quality/weather could change
Answer 2 :
Air quality is improving day by day as the fires get put out, Santa Ana winds die down and humidity returns to the areas. To know what the specific air quality is for Costa Mesa you may check the cities web site to see if they have it posted there.
Answer 3 :
City of Irvine has cancelled all outdoor events for the weekend, and most if not all schools are closed tomorrow. Employees in the north and east part of town are nauseous or actually becoming ill from fire-related conditions. Costa Mesa isn't as bad, but the air quality there is poor. But compared to Irvine, it's lovely.

About Where can a family camp in the Mesa AZ area in August
Where can a family camp in the Mesa AZ area in August?
My family is going to the Grand Canyon for a few days and then we will travel down to the Mesa area to visit family. We are having a hard time finding a place to camp because mostly everything is a 55+ community. We are looking for a pool, playground and laundry facility at the campground. We have found a KOA in Apahce Junction, but we are not sure if there is a playground and laundry. Even an hour away from Mesa is fine too. We have a 32 foot travel trailer so we need full hook up and we will be there for a week, please help!

Answer 1 :
Here is a web site that may help you with what you are looking for http://www.go-arizona.com click on the camping link
Answer 2 :
Mesa is part of the Valley of the Sun. In August in an RV, you will be extremely hot. If it is possible to stay inside a house with air conditioning, please, for the sake of those you love, do so. Otherwise, go back home and return in the winter. Temperatures can easily heat to 120 degrees and your RV will NOT cool down at night!!! People die here in the summer!!!
Answer 3 :
Umm... Camping in the Mesa area in August is not recommended unless you have a good air conditioner. It can get to about 120 degrees in the summer. You should keep that in mind

The best way is to take the Trolley from La Mesa to Old Town. Then take the Coaster train up to Carlsbad to Pointsettia Station then take a connecting NCTD bus to Legoland. If you go to this site and enter in your address/starting point and enter in Legoland as your destination and what date and time you want to travel it will give you different options to get there: http://sdcommute.com/TripPlanner/index.asp

Technically, yes, you go through the Tehachapi Mountains. However, you don't need to worry. This is not like driving up to Huntington Lake on the old Toll Road. This is I-5: 3-5 lanes of wide, straight freeway. No sharp curves, no cliffs, no trees to run into. Just watch out for the other cars and the trucks, and keep driving. Seriously, NO WORRIES.
