Traveling to Colorado? Wanna go to Denver, Mesa Verde, Rocky Mntn Nat'l Park?
Any suggested intenerary for this. I know it's all over Colorado, but I am up for a drive. My husband and I will be there for 8 days at the end of Sept and beginning of October. We are going to a Broncos game on Oct 4th. Otherwise everything is open.

Mesa Verde is a fantastic place, but a very long way from Denver. You may not make it all the way down there. Do as much as you can in and around Denver, then , even one full day at Mesa Verde is barely enough...so you may want to save that. If you do have time to go there , you may want to stop at Great Sand Dunes Nat'l Park near Alamosa too. I have been to Mesa Verde several times and discovered new parts each time. I have never been so impressed in my life as the first time I looked out over a huge canyon and saw the cliff dwellings as far as the eye could see in both directions on the other wall of the canyon. Rky. Mtn. Nat'l is also amazing. Go to the visitors center just inside the entrance at Rocky Mountain Nat'l park to learn all the great thing to do in the park. I have also listed some other great things to do in Denver below. Hope you have a great time at the Broncos' game!

Pikes Peak in Colorado Springs. ( Manitou Springs ) 14411 ft. Drive to the summit or take the Cog railway. Drive through The garden of the Gods. Visit the US Olympic training Center and the Air Force Academy. If you go to Mesa Verde stop at The Sand Dunes National Park.
Answer 4 :
Rocky Mountain National Park has a variety of wildlife, some of the most splendid mountain views and also offers easy access to campsites and back-country trails. Rocky mountains offers a lot of activities full of adventure like camping, fishing, hunting, horse trail rides and much more. According to me you can also visit the Estes Park Stables located at the eastern gateway Rocky Mountains which offers horseback riding, pack trips, drop camps to explore the wilderness of the nature.
Answer 5 :
Drive???? Haul out the covered wagon, honey, cause you're talking about a trek! Denver to Mesa Verde is a full day on the road! To Rocky is only a couple of hours...easy day drive...you might want to stay the night, though, or even spend a couple of days.
